United Way’s United for Children initiatives help children grow, learn and develop skills that equip them to become successful, contributing adults.
Funded programs will help local children build a strong foundation, succeed in school, establish caring relationships with adults, attend quality out-of-school programs, and plan for their futures. Programs include:

Fostering School Success | Educates school district administrators on the legal rights of foster care youth, working to ensure children’s educational rights are honored | KidsVoice |
Homewood Expanded Learning Pipeline | Aims to build a culture of college-going academic achievement among families in Homewood | Homewood Children’s Village/YMCA |
Warrior Movement | Hires and trains African American teens to teach reading strategies, STEM, and fitness interventions to local struggling students | Neighborhood Learning Alliance |
