“United Way’s Women’s Leadership Council offers many ways for women to get involved based on what they’re passionate about.”

Faye Rosatti knows when you pair passion with an opportunity to help others, incredible things happen. That’s why she’s proud to be a member of United Way’s Women’s Leadership Council (WLC).

Faye has been a career-long United Way donor through Dollar Bank’s annual workplace campaign, but decided to step up and join WLC when someone she respected asked her to consider it. “Sometimes all you need is for someone to make an invitation, to help you see how you can make a bigger impact,” Faye said.

During her time on the Council, she has seen how WLC-supported programs serve the most vulnerable people in our communities. While volunteering during a Faith in Action Day of Caring in Westmoreland County, Faye and other members of the Council spent the afternoon with a local senior, Goldie. As they cleaned her house and chatted together, the ladies forged a connection both with Goldie and with each other.

“I’ve sat on boards and love that work,” she said. “But it’s also good to get out of the board room and into the community to get our hands dirty. When you know your co-workers personally, the work comes easier.”

When talking with employees and others who are looking for ways to make the community stronger, Faye appreciates that United Way offers so many different opportunities for individuals, families and companies to make a difference. The magic is in discovering what they’re passionate about and finding the right person to make the invitation.

Now, through WLC’s TOGETHER Leading initiative, Faye has extended that ever-important personal invitation so a young woman close to her could experience the benefits of WLC membership – her daughter, Jessica Webb.

“This is a gift I’m so fortunate to be able to give my daughter. I look forward to her inviting the women in her life and seeing what we can do together.”
