Helping Financially Struggling Families Thrive

For Katie Hopkins, being a volunteer tax preparer “it’s so nice to see something tangible; you really feel like you’re making a big impact.” As a United Way volunteer during graduate school, Katie says she liked learning more about tax law, accounting and working with a wide range of people. “It was an invaluable experience in terms of personal development,” Katie says, “But more importantly for me it’s about giving back to the community and making a difference.”
