JAN FOX
Education Program Coordinator, Strategy Department
It’s kindergarten readiness, all the time for Jan Fox!
As United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania’s Education Program Coordinator, Jan makes sure children are prepared to enter kindergarten by meeting with educators and administrators, researching the latest tools for early childhood education and gathering materials for learning kits.
With 14 years at United Way, Jan can confidently say her typical workday is diverse. On any given day, she could be organizing the latest shipment of learning kit materials, researching a learning tool for early childhood educators or pairing partners with donated supplies. There’s quite a bit of multitasking but Jan says she’s perfectly suited for it.
Jan loves being part of the team that makes a difference in the lives of children and their families. She loves days when she brings books to classrooms and helps children choose one to add to their home library. It’s a rewarding experience to be able to donate diverse books to kids, teachers and administrators who need them.
When she’s not working, Jan is at her farmhouse in Westmoreland County. She likes to spend time either outdoors, with her grandchildren or with her horses. She also has four dogs, three Anatolian Shepherds and a Cardigan Welsh Corgi.
Thank you, Jan for your many years of service at United Way!
