MEET SONJA SIMONSON

Sonja Simonson joined the United Way team in August 2020, a fragile time for our communities. Her role as Accounting Supervisor is vital in making United Way’s work possible. Her daily tasks include recording and monitoring payments, managing expenditures, answering questions related to payments from donors and staff, preparing monthly financial reports and more.

As a resident of Pittsburgh’s Morningside neighborhood, Sonja says the best part about working for United Way is the impact she’s able to make in her community. She’s happy to know her work in the finance department supports United Way’s mission and the bigger picture. She’s also glad to work with a team that’s so passionate about helping people throughout the region.

Sonja enjoys biking, rock climbing, kayaking and knitting in her spare time and is looking forward to participating in more volunteer activities with her team.
